Teaching and Advising

I serve as a member of the scholarship evaluation committee and as an advisor to the Criminal Justice Association (CJA) at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. I guide and support students by fostering their learning through group studies and enhancing engagement with criminal justice institutions. I also function as a non-thesis committee advisor for a graduate student and work as a supervisor to a graduate assistant. Drawing on my previous experience as a high-ranking police official, where I managed and advised numerous officers, I have gained valuable insights into the diverse needs and expectations in a professional environment. These insights have proven instrumental in informing and instructing students. As a diverse faculty member, I have always emphasized how to address and support diverse student’s varying expectations.  My expertise in strategic management and software development also allows me to break down complex problems and formulate long-term plans that have been crucial in providing effective guidance to students.
